Eric Z - Instructor and Founder

While Eric is newer to formal snowboard instructing, his background in teaching, coaching, and snow sports spans over a decade. He has years of experience mentoring students in academics and coaching youth in sports such as volleyball and badminton — where patience, communication, and adaptability were key.

Eric has spent 10+ years on the slopes, including 4 years skiing and 6+ years snowboarding across a range of North American mountains. His technical foundation and passion for mountain culture translate naturally into his teaching.

In the upcoming 2025–2026 season, Eric will join the Canadian Ski Patrol at Mount St. Louis Moonstone — further solidifying his commitment to safety, professionalism, and growth within the snow sports community.

A Note From Eric

About me:

I’ve been snowboarding for over a decade and have spent time on some of North America’s top mountains — including Whistler, Park City, Cypress, Grouse Mountain, Blue Mountain, and Mount St. Louis Moonstone. I’m comfortable riding black diamonds with moguls and love the technical challenge they bring. While I’m still early in my formal instructing journey, I’ve coached and taught in other areas for years — from volleyball and badminton to academic tutoring. After suffering a serious snowboarding injury — a broken collarbone and fractured knee — I decided to become an instructor to guide younger riders gain the skills and awareness needed to stay safe, ride smart, and push themselves responsibly.

I’m currently working toward CASI Level 2 and CSIA Level 1 certification for 2025 - 2026 season (and eventually CASI 3 and CSIA 2) and am always learning and improving alongside my students.

My Teaching Style: Safety First

I work best with people who love speed, have adrenaline in their veins, and are eager to step out of their comfort zones. My approach is about helping students ride fast — but with control, stability, and confidence. If you enjoy the rush of flying down a hill and want to learn how to do it safely and skillfully, we’ll get along great. My lessons are structured around building balance, core strength, and smart riding habits so you can push your limits without putting yourself at risk. I’ll challenge you — but I’ll also be right there with you the whole way.

Interests and Hobbies:

When I’m not riding, you’ll probably find me playing volleyball, working out, hiking, or socializing with my friends. I’m also into mobile and computer games and like keeping up with the news.
